Our friendship and collaboration with some scooterists from the Paris scene dates back to the early 2000’s when we used to be proud sponsors of their “Scooter Shows” . Classic scooters, great music and fun were the main ingredients back in the days and after ten (or more…) years the “scene” seems to be still healthy.
Vespa Parade Paris 2017…
Dear friends and Vespa Riders
Yes indeed, The Vespa Club of Paris and the Ile-de-France is already two years old!
It is easy to remember because it is our third participation in the Vespa Parade Paris
A date that has become a must in the calendar of the Vespa Club Paris Ile-deFrance
Our beautiful Capital can be proud of its Vespists! More than 150 Vespas (and a few
Lambrettas) were present for the start of the annual Parade, which gathered in front
of the new “Motoplex” scooter shop of our regular partner “La Clinique du Scooter”
(located at 137 Boulevard de l’Hopital, Paris 13th) where we enjoyed a convivial (and
hearty) breakfast. In all some 150 Vespa riders plus their passengers were
assembled, for an attendance of almost 220-250 people (2500 if you count those at
similar scooter gatherings throughout France)
In front of the dealership, the Vulcanet stand was set up offering to clean and polish
your Vespas. Marisa from Italy was present representing “Emporio Dello Scooter”
and she was handing out cable kits to the lucky scooterists! Inside the Motoplex, La
Clinique du Scooter was showing off two new models, the 946 “Emporio Armani” and
the GTV “Sei Giorni”, while members of the Vespa Club Paris distributed goodies to
the Vespa riders and signed up new members.
150 Vespas on the most beautiful streets, right in the heart of Paris!
Next up was the ride out lead by Tom of “Ride’n’Smile Vespa Tours of Paris”, a one
and a half hour ride through the streets and back streets of Paris. I know for many of
you it was all too short and time passed way too fast and you would have liked to
have continued for longer. …
But a fantastic Ride-Out though, immortalized on camera by George of “Ghost
Photography” who came over with Dawn, from England especially to cover the event,
and who was aboard Manar’s Vespa APE three-wheeler, to take the photos. He got
shots around the Bastille, Notre Dame, the Ile de la Cité, Place de la Concorde etc.
Finally, it was time to head down to banks of the River Seine, to board the river boat
café “Le Bal de the Marine “, moored at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, to get a bite to
eat and to shelter from the rain that had decided to joined us.
Embarkation on board!
The sun came back out though, and the hundred plus Vespas were lined up in front
of the barge. On board the river boat, a surprise Raffle was being organised by
Olivier (member of the Vespa Club Paris) with the help of some of our many partners
who had sponsored the event. A number of lucky Vespa riders had their names
drawn out of the hat…. A fantastic moment where the lucky winners received some
incredible prizes from Piaggio-France, KYT Helmets, Esquad Jeans, Macna, SIPScootershop,
Vulcanet, Emporio dello Scooter and Three-Stroke Productions. A
massive thanks to all of them for their annual support for the Vespa Parade Paris.
Always look ahead …
This is the 3rd Annual Vespa Parade Paris in which we have taken part … Everything
while not perfect, went well. We constantly try to improve the event each year to
make this day unforgettable. We weren’t 100% satisfied with all aspects this year, but
as you might imagine it is not easy to find a venue, at short notice, to lay on food for
over 100 participants and have the room to park our superb collection of Vespas
during our meal.
We managed this though, right in the centre of Paris at the foot of the Eiffel Tower,
laying on appetizers, main course with dessert and coffee, all in a laid back
atmosphere in a pretty special place.. So we weren’t too far off the mark !!
Piaggio France, La Clinique du Scooter and all our partners and the Vespa Club
Paris Ile-de-France would like to thank you all for your support in coming to the event
from all over the Paris region as well as from further afield (Belgium/Charleroi,
UK/Stoke-on-Trent, Italy/Venezia) to participate to our annual Vespa Parade in Paris.
A massive thanks to all of you! And do not wait for the 2018 Vespa Parade Paris to
come and ride with us. Come along to one of our regular events, and join the other
enthusiasts of the “Vespa Club Paris Ile-de-France”.
