Daniel runs a shop called Ultrastreet where you can find some of the best “casual” brands including, of course, Three Stroke Productions.
We asked him to tell us more about his project and about the scene in Poland…
The project, which is now proudly called ULTRASTREET STREETWEAR & LIFESTYLE SHOP was established in Warsaw, Poland in 2009 from an idea of our friend Forin,
He has been a great inspiration and thanks to him ULTRASTREET is now a reality,
We started by selling Galant Fason T-shirts (our own current project). Along with Local Patriots and Outside Wear,
It was probably a bit too early for proper “casual” inspired English clothing and terrace culture in general. Poland wasn’t prepared yet for brands like ‘80s Casuals and Peaceful Hooligan,
Since we cater for a lot of football fans as well we now sell pyrotechnics,
Also we extended our offer by adding some martial arts gear such as Mohave, Ben Lee, Storm Cloud.
WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN GOALS?
We want to provide our clients with unique clothing and accessories, along with the best price and quality for the fans.
WHAT KIND OF BRANDS ARE MORE LIKELY TO BE INCLUDED IN YOUR STORE AND WHY?
We work with some Polish brands like Ofensywa, OutsideWear which over the years have managed to gain a good brand recognition. Plus a few brands from the UK such as Lonsdale, Fred Perry; and Three – Stroke Productions,
We feel the interest for English casual clothing is growing fast,
This year Peaceful Hooligan jackets and Three Stroke sweatshirts are very popular.
IT SEEMS THERE’S A GROWING INTEREST FOR “NEW BREED” ENGLISH BRANDS IN YOUR COUNTRY, WHICH IS VERY GOOD NEWS…… CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHY?
Times are changing and the old fans have grown out of the MA-1 bomber jackets and Doc Martens boots,
They no longer wear flyers with the orange side out or use T-shirts with big ACAB slogans,
They prefer low profile now, if you follow me?
DO YOU FOLLOW FOOTBALL?
Right now I don’t have time to follow my team away: Legia Warszawa.
MUSIC: YOUR FAVORITE BANDS?
I like different styles of music. It also depends on the mood,
I like classics such as Madness and The Jam,
I also like 2step, d’n’b, uk garage, rnb, soul,
Along with The Streets, Dub Pistols, Audio Bullys, Plan B and electronic music like
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs,
Right now I listen to Czworka on the radio a lot, and I also listen to a lot of alternative rock and Polish Hip-Hop.
WARSAW: we need some recommendations for our readers…:) tell us some of the best places visitors shouldn’t miss like decent venues, historical sites, shopping, anything?
Royal Bathroom – A beautiful park with numerous neoclassical monuments,
Warsaw Uprising Museum – It is difficult to appreciate Warsaw without knowing our past,
The Old Town – Which has a good selection of restaurants and interesting architecture.
PLANS AND NEWS FOR THE COMING SEASON?
We now have a lot of work to do with our new store based in downtown Warsaw.
So if you’re ever hanging around in Warsaw, then drop by. You’re always welcome!
Thanks for interview.
